Prefect Nertil Jole / Meeting with UNHCR representatives on the "EU4Migration" project

Today, I held a meeting with representatives and experts from the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), who presented to me the "EU4Migration" project, supported by the European Union Delegation. The project focuses on the decentralization of asylum procedures.

This initiative aims to create a simplified system for addressing the needs of individuals seeking international protection, in line with the commitment made by the Albanian government at the 2023 Global Refugee Forum. This commitment is also part of Albania’s institutional obligations within the EU integration negotiation process.

During the meeting, I expressed my readiness to always be cooperative and supportive in fostering an enabling institutional climate, by providing the necessary assistance for every case requiring attention from the relevant authorities.
