Previously convicted for drug cultivation, 61-year-old caught with a pistol and ammunition

A 61-year-old man has been arrested by police in Krujë after a firearm and ammunition were found during a search of his home.

According to police, Shaban Murati, 61, was arrested as part of a police operation codenamed “Foksi.” Authorities said he had previously been convicted of cultivating narcotic plants.

During the search, police officers found a pistol and a magazine loaded with ammunition in a storage facility within the grounds of the 61-year-old’s home.

The firearm and ammunition were seized as material evidence, while the 61-year-old was arrested on the relevant criminal charge.

As part of ongoing operations to identify, locate, and arrest individuals who illegally possess firearms and thereby endanger public safety, officers from the Krujë Police Commissariat arrested Sh. M., 61, a resident of the village of Abaze, Krujë, in flagrante delicto during the police operation codenamed “Fokusi.”

During the searches, officers found a firearm (pistol), along with a magazine containing ammunition, in a storage facility within the grounds of his residence. The items were seized as material evidence.

The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor’s Office for further action, police said.
