‘Prostitution business’ on social media, police arrest Colombian pimp and two women from Brazil!

Two suspected cases of prostitution in Tirana have been uncovered.

A 46-year-old woman and a 21-year-old woman, both Brazilian nationals, as well as a 23-year-old woman from Colombia, have been arrested.

According to the Police, the 46-year-old woman is suspected of exploiting the 21-year-old for prostitution in an apartment rented on “Abdyl Frashëri” Street.

During a search of the premises, six mobile phones were found and seized. They are suspected of having been used to advertise the activity on social media.

In the other case, the 23-year-old Colombian woman is suspected of having rented an apartment on “Hamdi Sulcebe” Street, where she allegedly engaged in prostitution.

Two more cases involving the advertising of prostitution on social media have been uncovered, with two rented apartments identified where this activity was allegedly taking place.

Two foreign nationals, Brazilian and Colombian, have been arrested for prostitution.

A 46-year-old woman was also arrested for allegedly exploiting the Brazilian national for this activity. Six mobile phones used to advertise the activity on social media were seized.

Following verification efforts, operational work, and investigations aimed at identifying and cracking down on cases of prostitution taking place in rented apartments—an activity that in some cases is advertised on social media—specialists from the Illegal Trafficking Investigation Section finalized the operation codenamed “Last Post.” During the operation, two additional cases in this field were uncovered, resulting in the arrest of foreign nationals:

L. S., 46, and T. S., 21 (both Brazilian nationals), as the 46-year-old is suspected of exploiting T. S. for prostitution in a rented apartment on “Abdyl Frashëri” Street, where six mobile phones were found and seized as material evidence.

M. V., 23 (Colombian national), as she is suspected of having rented an apartment on “Hamdi Sulcebe” Street for the purpose of engaging in prostitution.

Checks and investigations against this criminal activity are continuing both on the ground and in the digital space. The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction in Tirana for further action.
