Prostitution ring uncovered / Two women from Kazakhstan arrested

After several weeks of proactive investigations, the police operation codenamed “Rented” has been successfully concluded.

Two women from Kazakhstan, who were practicing prostitution in two rented apartments in the city of Elbasan, were arrested in flagrante delicto. A 39-year-old woman who had rented out the apartments was also referred to the Prosecutor’s Office for criminal proceedings.

Cash in various currencies, suspected to be proceeds from the illegal activity, identification documents, and mobile phones were seized.

The Trafficking Investigation Section of DVP Elbasan, in cooperation with the Operational Support Investigation Section, as a result of intensive investigations carried out using proactive methods under the direction of the Prosecutor’s Office, successfully concluded the operation codenamed “Rented.”

Investigations revealed that two women from Kazakhstan had rented two apartments in the city of Elbasan for the purpose of practicing prostitution.

Following further actions, the women Z. M., 37, and N. S., 38, both residing in Kazakhstan, were arrested for the criminal offense of “Prostitution.”

Additionally, materials were referred to the Prosecutor’s Office, initiating criminal proceedings against the owner of the two apartments, M. C., 39, residing in Elbasan, for the criminal offense of “Maintaining premises for prostitution.”

During inspections, cash in various currencies, suspected to have been earned from this illegal activity, mobile phones, and various documents were seized as evidence from the two apartments.

Under the direction of the Prosecutor’s Office, work continues to fully document this activity and identify other individuals who may be involved.

Procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction in Elbasan for further action.
