Prime Minister Edi Rama this Saturday posted on social media the video of the demolition of a tourist complex built without a permit in the area of Cape of Rodon.

According to Rama, legal order has now been restored over this complex, which had been “held hostage by an abuser,” as he described, who also happened to be a former head of inspectors in Durrës.

The Prime Minister said that this citizen has been detained by the police and is facing justice.

In his reaction, Rama also recalled previous debates about demolitions of illegal constructions in Theth.

He noted that when the cleaning of the tourist village began, there were many critical voices saying: “Why Theth and not the South? Why like that and not like this?” while stressing that the work to protect the territory from abusers continues equally in the North, South, and Central Albania.

Rama’s full reaction:

“Some voices at the beginning of this new turn were saying ‘Why Theth and not the South, why like that and not like this’, while the work to protect the country from abusers continues in the North, South, and Central Albania, where specifically in Durrës legal order has been restored over a territory taken hostage by an abuser, who has been detained by the State Police and handed over to justice, even as a former head of the inspectors of Durrës. Cape of Rodon,” Rama wrote. ✅
