Prime Minister Edi Rama announced that around 720 officers of the State Police, who operate on the front line facing the highest risks, will benefit from a salary increase.

Speaking on his podcast “Lets talk,” Rama stated that the salary of an inspector in RIU will reach approximately €1,600, while leaders within this structure will receive up to €2,300.

For operational forces, an inspector will earn around €1,200, while a chief commissioner will receive between €1,600 and €1,700.

“Approximately 720 officers of the State Police, those serving on the front line facing the highest level of risk, will benefit from further salary increases. RIU forces, the National Security Forces, and the Special Operational Forces will receive even greater support for the challenging and valuable work they carry out in service of communities and our shared homeland.

An inspector in RIU will now be paid around €1,600, while a leader within this structure will earn close to €2,300. For operational forces, an inspector’s salary will go to around €1,200, while a chief commissioner will receive between €1,600 and €1,700.

Together with serious investments in technology, training, and equipment, this increase is another part of the consistent approach to strengthening law and order and establishing a fair balance between the demand for results and the appropriate recognition of those results,” Rama said.
