Serious accident / One of the victims is the grandson of former Parliament Speaker, Gramoz Ruçi

The person in the photo is the late Anxhelo Ruçi, who tragically passed away in the early hours of January 1 in a traffic accident on the Gjirokastër–Tepelenë road.

The 27-year-old was the son of police chief Rami Ruçi and the grandson of former Speaker of the Albanian Parliament, Gramoz Ruçi.

The accident, which turned the celebration into a tragedy, occurred due to the collision of two vehicles.

A Volkswagen carrying Klejdi Myftari, 24, and Anxhelo Ruçi, 27, was involved; both lost their lives from the injuries sustained. The other vehicle, a Mercedes-Benz, carried Martin Dulaj, 25, who died at the scene, and Arsida Demiri, 19, who was transported to the Trauma Hospital in Tirana for specialized medical care.
