SERIOUS ACCIDENT / SUV collides with elderly man on a motorcycle

A serious accident occurred this Thursday morning on the rural road Pirrë–Kamçisht, in the administrative unit of Kolonjë, Lushnjë municipality.

An SUV reportedly struck a motorcycle from behind, which was being ridden by 76-year-old Minella Prençe, a resident of Pirrë village.

An ambulance arrived at the scene shortly after and urgently transported the elderly man to hospital, where he remains under intensive care in serious condition due to the injuries sustained.

Traffic police at the scene detained the SUV driver, while the investigative team is working to clarify the circumstances of the accident.

It is reported that the 76-year-old was not wearing a protective helmet, which contributed to the severity of his injuries. It is also suspected that although the SUV driver attempted to brake, he was unable to avoid the collision with the motorcycle.
