Serious crime / 40-year-old woman stabbed to death by her partner

A 40-year-old woman in Italy was brutally killed by her partner, who stabbed her to death at least eight times before taking his own life.

The perpetrator, identified as Diego Di Domenico, fatally stabbed the 40-year-old Ana Tagliaferri, who owned a well-known pastry shop in the city of Cava dei Tirreni, in southern Italy. He then climbed onto the roof of the house where he lived with the victim and ended his life by jumping off.

According to Rai, Di Domenico stabbed Anna eight times in the neck and face. During the struggle, he also lightly injured her mother, who tried to protect her daughter. The mother, the only witness to the attack, is currently in hospital in a state of shock. The mayor of Cava dei Tirreni had recently awarded the unfortunate woman, together with her brothers and sisters, a prize for fifty years of successful business activity. Shortly afterward, the municipality announced that, as a sign of mourning, all events planned for Christmas and New Year’s would be canceled.
