SERIOUS INCIDENT / A man dies after being punched; the suspected young man is arrested

A serious incident occurred in the village of Arapaj, Durrës, where a conflict over minor reasons tragically ended with the death of a 52-year-old man.

According to the official statement from the Durrës Police Directorate, after investigations, 18-year-old L. Ç. was arrested. He is accused of the criminal offense of “aggravated intentional injury,” resulting in the death of Saimir Fetahu, 52.

Preliminary investigations indicate that following a spontaneous argument, the young man struck the 52-year-old with a punch, causing him to fall and hit his head on the ground.

Despite medical intervention, the victim passed away on November 10, 2025, around 10:00 PM at the Trauma Hospital in Tirana.

Police emphasize that the incident occurred over minor motives. Procedural materials have been referred to the Prosecutor’s Office at the Durrës District Court for further legal action.
