The premature death of her son turned into an act of suicide for a 72-year-old woman from Lezha, who could not cope with the great loss and ended her own life.

The incident occurred in the village of Lalm i Ri, where a 42-year-old man, Aleksandër Marku, was found lifeless in his shop. The police reported that a preliminary examination of the body showed no signs of violence, so the death is suspected to have occurred from natural causes.

Upon receiving the tragic news, in a state of severe emotional and psychological distress, the 72-year-old Prene Marku took her own life by hanging.

The mother was found dead by family members in her home, causing immense grief. The bodies have been sent to the Institute of Forensic Medicine in Tirana for a medical-legal examination to determine the exact cause of death.
