An approximately 80-year-old woman in Vlora has locked the door of her home, where she lives alone, and gone out onto the apartment’s balcony, threatening to jump.
The incident took place in the “Pavarësia 3” neighborhood, where the elderly woman remained for several minutes on the balcony of her third-floor apartment, repeatedly threatening to jump.
Police and fire brigade units arrived at the scene. A firefighter climbed up to the apartment using a ladder in an effort to persuade her to come down safely.
The elderly woman is suspected to suffer from sclerosis-related health issues. Her grandson arrived at the scene and, together with the firefighter, opened the apartment door. The elderly woman is now receiving medical assistance.
