Shocking news! A father kills his 2-year-old daughter and then himself—initial suspicions emerging

A shocking event took place on Wednesday evening in the town of Golija, Montenegro, where a 34-year-old man is suspected of killing his 2-year-old daughter and then taking his own life.

According to local media reports, the incident started after a family conflict. Sources at the scene say that following a violent argument with his wife, the suspected perpetrator physically assaulted her and then left the house with his young daughter.

The tragedy was discovered several hours later when the 34-year-old’s father alerted the police, reporting that he had found the lifeless bodies of his son and granddaughter in the mountainous area of Golija, about 50 kilometers from the city of Nikšić. It is suspected that the daughter was killed, followed by the father’s suicide, although investigations are still ongoing.

Immediately after the report, police forces and a medical team arrived at the scene and confirmed the deaths of the suspected perpetrator, identified by the initials Zh.D., and his young daughter.

The investigations to fully clarify the circumstances are being led by the State Prosecutor’s Office in Podgorica, while authorities have not yet released an official statement regarding the motives behind this tragic act.

The incident has caused great shock in public opinion and has reopened the debate on domestic violence and the protection of women and children from abuse within the home.
