Skënderbeu has appointed a new head coach for its women’s volleyball team ahead of the upcoming season. Olsi Haxhillari will take over the Korça-based side, replacing Oraldo Koja, who has left to join Dinamo.
Haxhillari, known for his experience working with youth and junior teams, faces a significant challenge in this new venture. In recent weeks, Skënderbeu has experienced a real player exodus, losing the majority of its core squad. Several players have transferred to Pogradeci, while others like Begaj have joined Tirana and Malo has moved to Dinamo.
Under these conditions, building a competitive team will be a tough mission for Haxhillari, who must start from scratch in a limited domestic talent pool.
His official appointment is expected to be confirmed immediately after he returns from an international youth volleyball tournament.
The situation in Korça remains uncertain, as the club's management must act quickly to build a team capable of facing the challenges of the upcoming season.
