Skënderbeu faces a difficult situation ahead of the new football season, as the club has been officially banned from signing new players in the transfer market.

This development comes as a result of three decisions issued by the National Chamber for Dispute Resolution (DhKZM), which have now become binding.

Sources close to the Albanian Football Federation (FSHF) report that these decisions were made during 2023, specifically in January, July, and August, and relate to unresolved issues regarding the club’s failure to fulfill contractual obligations toward former players or third parties.

Although this ban was not strictly enforced for a long period due to ongoing processes, it is now back in full effect. Skënderbeu will not be able to register any new players until it resolves its legal matters and complies with the financial obligations outlined in the DhKZM decisions.

Meanwhile, it remains to be seen whether Skënderbeu’s management will reach agreements with the affected parties and fulfill the obligations required to lift the transfer ban.

Otherwise, the club risks entering the season with a non-competitive squad and very limited options for reinforcements.
