Smuggling at Kapshticë. Illegal immigrants caught / Here’s the customs announcement!

The authorities of North Macedonia have announced, through the Information Exchange Center, that from 10:00 today, heavy vehicles (trucks) have been allowed to move to the Bllatë Border Crossing Point on North Macedonia’s territory. Trucks will be permitted under the same transit and documentation rules, and those that had been unloaded will also be allowed to cross. In cases where seals were damaged, they will be replaced with new ones.

Specialists for Crime Investigation at the Korçë Border and Migration Directorate referred materials to the Prosecutor’s Office, initiating criminal proceedings for the offense of “Smuggling of other goods” against N. Sh., 65, resident of Bilisht. This individual was found on the “Kapshticë-Bilisht” road driving a vehicle, during the inspection of which several used household appliances suspected of being smuggled were found. The vehicle and appliances were seized as material evidence.

Specialists for Crime Investigation at the Korçë Border and Migration Directorate also referred materials to the Prosecutor’s Office, initiating criminal proceedings for the offense of “Illegal crossing of the state border” against B. M., 41, resident of Shkallë village, Mat, suspected of having crossed illegally into Greece.

Procedural materials have been forwarded to the Korçë Prosecutor’s Office for further action.

Additionally, the Kapshticë Border Police patrol services (land border) captured two irregular migrants near the villages of Trestenik and Vidohovë, Devoll. They were processed with voluntary departure orders from the territory of the Republic of Albania.
