For the second time in a short period, floods have severely hit the farmers of Sovjan village in the Maliq municipality, wiping out any hope for this year’s agricultural production.
Even though two weeks have passed since the Devoll River overflowed onto the agricultural lands of the Maliq plain, the plots in Sovjan village remain submerged, and the damage is increasing day by day.
Farmers report that they had mainly planted wheat and corn, but the flooding has completely destroyed the crops.
The breach of the Devoll River embankment caused flooding of approximately 3,800 hectares of agricultural land in the Maliq plain, massively affecting farmers in the villages of the area.
The situation remains concerning, and residents are awaiting concrete support from the responsible institutions.
