A magnitude 5.2 earthquake on the Richter scale struck the southern coast of Spain, according to the Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC).
The quake was recorded at a depth of ten kilometers.
The epicenter was located 24 kilometers southeast of the Spanish city of San Jose and 55 kilometers southeast of Almeria.
There were no initial reports of casualties or material damage, and no tsunami warning was issued following the quake.
