Amid the many debates and innovations surrounding the 2026 World Cup among them the larger number of participating teams, with 48 sides involved, and the tournament being hosted simultaneously in three countries, the USA, Canada, and Mexico the issue discussed the most is ticket prices. According to fans, who have often protested, these prices are several times higher than those of the Qatar World Cup.
Albania is not yet certain to take part in the finals of this World Cup, as it will have to play its first playoff match against Poland on March 26. However, in the draw held on December 5 for the group stage of the World Cup finals, Albania was listed as Playoff B in a group with the Netherlands, Japan, and Tunisia.
If we assume that our dream comes true, here is how much it would cost an Albanian fan to attend all three group matches. Based on official FIFA prices obtained by Top Channel, for each of the three matches there are two ticket categories available. For the first match, against Tunisia in Monterrey, Mexico, a Category 1 ticket will cost $450, while a Category 2 ticket will cost $380.
For the second match, against the Netherlands, played in Houston, United States, Category 1 tickets cost $600, while Category 2 tickets are priced at $430.
The third match, against Japan, will be played in Dallas, also in the United States, where a Category 1 ticket costs $500 and a Category 2 ticket costs $400.
In other words, not including airfare which is rising rapidly hotel prices, or car parking, which FIFA provides at around $70 per hour, following the national team, if they have the chance to be there, would cost $1,550 in the Category 1 option, while the cheapest option would be $1,210. And these are official prices, not those of agencies or online resellers. First, however, Albania must win the playoff to be there, and only then think about the money, as there are fans whose teams are qualified but who are not allowed into the USA due to entry policies, without even considering the issue of tickets.
