The President of SIGAL Insurance Group, Mr. Avni Ponari, and the President of the Tirana Regional Football Association, Mr. Krenar Alimehmeti, signed a one-year cooperation agreement at the headquarters of the Albanian Football Federation (FSHF).

Under this agreement, 5,600 young footballers both boys and girls playing within the Tirana district will benefit from recommended medical checkups and sports injury insurance, all included in a joint package offered as a partial sponsorship by SIGAL Insurance Group.

The signing was marked by a special ceremony attended by representatives of the FSHF, SIGAL Insurance Group, and the Tirana Regional Football Association.

The President of the Albanian Football Federation, Armando Duka, welcomed the agreement, describing it as an important step toward improving the standards and quality of youth football. He emphasized that this initiative marks a historic moment, as children will no longer be exposed to chance or misfortune but will instead have guaranteed financial protection for their health.

SIGAL Insurance Group CEO, Mr. Avni Ponari, praised the agreement and expressed readiness to further expand the successful cooperation with the Albanian Football Federation, whose leadership he described as innovative and ambitious in pursuing the highest standards in every aspect.

He highlighted this initiative as an extremely significant step, underlining its concrete impact on the lives of young athletes and their families. In his remarks, Mr. Ponari recalled that many parents and children had often turned to the company for help after injuries, whereas now, thanks to the new agreement with the Football Federation, such cases will be handled through a structured and dignified solution.

According to him, young athletes will no longer have to rely on aid, luck, or institutional charity but will instead feel protected and proud of their insurance contracts, which guarantee them support in case of injury just as in any other country where sports are treated professionally.

Ponari noted that a serious injury, such as a broken leg, could cost up to five thousand euros. Such injuries, common in contact sports, represent a sudden and heavy burden for any parent. For this reason, he thanked the Federation and all partners who made this agreement possible, calling it a model to be expanded further in the coming years and reaffirming his company’s full commitment to this goal.

Mr. Ardian Haçi, Secretary General of the Tirana Regional Football Association, described the project as highly efficient, as it meets three key criteria: low package cost, non-obligatory participation, and practical, tangible benefits for the sporting activities of children and their families.

Mr. Edison Gjoni, product manager at SIGAL Insurance Group, guaranteed that the benefits of this agreement will extend to the families of the young athletes and will soon be implemented beyond the Tirana district. He stressed that financial difficulties should not be a barrier to the dreams of young football players, as SIGAL Insurance Group will always be by their side.

The agreement represents an important step toward protecting and ensuring the well-being of young athletes, setting new safety standards in youth football. SIGAL Insurance Group is a premium sponsor of the Albanian national team and has been a long-standing partner in its successes for over a decade. It is also a sponsor of the domestic championship, Abissnet Superiore, following the global example of leading insurance giants who actively support and invest in raising standards in sports.
