Drug Distribution Network Near Schools Dismantled, 12 Arrested


Durrës Police arrested 12 individuals and declared one other person wanted in connection with a criminal network involved in the production and distribution of narcotics near high schools in the city.


The organizer of the group, 30-year-old F. A., faces charges for “Production and sale of narcotic substances” as well as several other offenses, including possession and production of explosive weapons and ammunition without a license, smuggling of goods, smuggling of restricted or excise goods, hiding income, failure to issue tax receipts, nonpayment of taxes, and illegal employment.


The other arrested individuals are: B. O., 32; A. P., 24; E. Sh., 19; T. D., 36; F. C., 31; G. K., 27; I. H., 35; S. Sh., 58; I. D., 38; M. K., 29; and V. Sh., 20, who also face charges for illegal possession of knives. The wanted individual is B. M., who remains under an arrest warrant.


During the operation, the police seized:


180 doses of cocaine (total weight 100 grams)

620 doses of marijuana (total weight 1.25 kilograms)

2 electronic scales

16 mobile phones

3 knives

1 brass knuckle

Live ammunition


Investigations and evidence collected revealed that these individuals, working together, engaged in the illegal distribution and sale of narcotics in the vicinity of high schools in Durrës.


The operation, named “CLEANING 3,” was carried out by the Durrës Police Drug Investigation Section, in close cooperation with the Durrës District Prosecutor’s Office and supported by the Special Force unit “Shqiponja” and the Operational Special Force of the Police Directorate.


The investigation, based on police intelligence and special investigation methods, followed criminal case no. 880 of 2025. Previous related operations, “CLEANING 1” and “CLEANING 2,” had already led to several arrests for “Distribution of narcotic substances” near schools in Durrës.


As a result of the ongoing investigation and the evidence obtained, the authorities were able to identify, document, and legally process the criminal activities of additional individuals involved in this drug distribution network.


The procedural materials for the arrested individuals have been forwarded to the Durrës District Prosecutor’s Office for further legal and investigative actions. Police continue efforts to locate and arrest B. M., the remaining wanted member of the group.
