At the Special Court (GJKKO), the hearing for the “Partizani” case began today, with the main defendant being Jamarbër Malltezi, the son-in-law of former Prime Minister Sali Berisha. Only Malltezi was present in the courtroom, while the others were represented by their lawyers.
Lawyer Genc Gjokutaj requested the absolute invalidity of the case files, arguing that the prosecution exceeded its constitutional powers and acted with political motives. According to him, the charges of passive corruption and money laundering have no legal basis.
The court decided to postpone the hearing to September 29 at 11:00 to allow time for the preparation of preliminary requests.
