A serious incident shocked Greece yesterday, where a 35-year-old Albanian woman is reported to have assaulted her 14-year-old daughter, causing the latter to miscarry while she was pregnant.

Initially, it was reported that the underage girl went to the police carrying the fetus in a bag, claiming that everything happened as a result of the brutal violence from her mother. The 14-year-old’s mother has been arrested, and she is facing charges for a serious crime, intentional serious bodily harm, and termination of pregnancy.

However, Greek media report the testimony of the girl’s brother, who sheds a different light on the details of the investigation.

“Three months ago she was at our house and told my father: ‘Dad, I’m going to get a sandwich,’ and she left. Hours and days passed and she didn’t come back. We didn’t know she was pregnant.

My father and I were in Evia. My mother went to the apartment to check on her daughter, and three people appeared in front of her. Shortly after, my mother called me and told me that they had taken her to the Police Station. There has never been a fight with my sister,” said the 14-year-old’s brother.

Meanwhile, the 14-year-old girl’s father testifies: “My wife left two days later, we were waiting for someone to call us. My daughter got married and didn’t call to inform us, we searched for her for days and even went to the Police. We searched for two and a half months and she didn’t call us. Was it a kidnapping? Did she leave on her own or was she taken? I don’t know. Now my wife has been running around police departments for two days. I want her to go to a doctor to see where she was hit. There has never been a fight, she is lying. We have no contact with her. It seems strange to me that she was pregnant.”
