An American citizen has been arrested in Tirana after being accused of sexual harassment and stalking a 20-year-old employee.

According to reports, criminal proceedings against the 47-year-old began following a complaint filed by the young woman who worked for him in a private business in the capital.

In her testimony, the 20-year-old stated that she had been continuously harassed by the business owner, who, according to her, committed several incidents of sexual harassment in the workplace. She also said that the 47-year-old allegedly tried to give her alcohol in order to make her drunk and claimed that he had also used violence against her.

Following the complaint, police intervened and arrested the American citizen, who now faces charges of sexual harassment in the workplace and stalking.

Meanwhile, authorities are expected to also take his testimony regarding the incident. The 47-year-old will appear in court tomorrow, where he will be informed of the security measure against him.
