The official opening ceremony of the 19th Balkan Student Mathematical Olympiad took place today, organized by “Fan S. Noli” University in collaboration with the Southeast European Mathematical Society and the Albanian Mathematical Society.
Over 100 participants from 27 universities across Albania, Greece, North Macedonia, Bulgaria, Romania, and Turkmenistan were welcomed by the rector of UNIKO, Prof. Dr. Lorenc Ekonomi, the Deputy Mayor of Korçë, Mr. Kletion Kita, the Prefect of the Korçë District, Mr. Nertil Jole, as well as Mr. Adrian Naço, President of the Albanian Mathematical Society.
After the introduction of all participants, a special greeting was extended to the attendees through a dance performance by students of the Greek school “Omiros” in Korçë and the “Skënderbeu” Ensemble of the city of Korçë.
