Two Albanians lost their lives yesterday as a result of an accident that occurred on the island of Crete, Greece.


Meanwhile, photos of the victims have been released. They have been identified as Edison Xhaka, 28, from Elbasan, and Aleksandër Toçila, 34, from Gramsh. Both had been living and working for years in the Kissamos area.


The accident occurred on the Kissamos–Chania road, near the Kolymbari area. According to preliminary information, the two young men were traveling on a motorcycle when, for reasons that have not yet been clarified by authorities, they lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the roadside barriers. The impact proved fatal, taking their lives at the scene.


The news has shocked their families, friends, and the Albanian community in Crete. Relatives and fellow citizens describe Edison Xhaka and Aleksandër Toçila as hardworking and respected young men with plans for the future, which were tragically cut short by the accident.


Greek authorities are continuing investigations to fully clarify the circumstances of the accident.
