The police arrested four individuals in Tirana today and have issued a search notice for another. The arrested persons have been identified as Alesio Brungaj, Serxhio Lala, and Enis Aliaj. They were caught in the act while attempting to withdraw 11 packages containing counterfeit euros.
These shipments were handled by Alesio Brungaj, who used a fake trade name to disguise the activity and distribute the counterfeit banknotes. The police have seized the discovered packages and are continuing their investigation into the case.
**Police Announcement**
The Economic and Financial Crime Investigation Section of the Tirana Police Directorate, under the direction of the Prosecutor’s Office, finalized the police operation codenamed “Wrong Delivery,” aimed at tackling criminal activities involving counterfeit banknotes. As a result of the operation, the following individuals were arrested in flagrante:
A. B., 19, resident of Shkodër
A 17-year-old minor, resident of Tirana
S. L., 26, resident of Tirana
E. A., 19, resident of Tirana
Additionally, citizen A. P., 19, resident of Krujë, has been declared wanted.
S. L., E. A., and the minor were caught in flagrante while attempting to withdraw 11 packages containing suspected counterfeit euro banknotes from a post office in Tirana. These shipments were organized by A. B., who used a fake trade name to disguise the operation and distribute the counterfeit money. Efforts continue to apprehend the wanted individual, A. P., and to fully document this criminal activity.
Procedural materials have been referred to the Tirana Prosecutor’s Office for further action.
