Three employees of the Vlora Municipality have been suspended from their duties since December 19, 2025, after being suspected of collaborating to steal fuel from work vehicles at the Waste Collection Point. A disciplinary procedure has also been initiated against a Municipal Police officer in connection with the incident.

The case was recorded on December 19, 2025, when Municipal Police officer I.Dh. notified Sector Chief E.V. that the driver of an army truck, parked within the Waste Collection Point and assigned to clean the city’s sewer network, had noticed suspicious signs suggesting that fuel may have been taken from the work vehicle.

Immediately after the notification, the Sector Chief, together with officer P.M., went to the Waste Collection Point. After contacting the responsible military vehicle commander, they secured and reviewed security camera footage from the area where the truck was parked.

The review revealed that the surveillance camera covering this zone had been deliberately moved. A similar situation was noted during another time interval, during which Municipal Police officer M.J. was on duty.

According to M.J., the cameras were moved because two cleaning company employees, A.B. and B.H., requested that the camera’s view be adjusted to allow them to refuel their vehicle with a canister of diesel.

Following this case, the Municipal Police initiated a disciplinary procedure against officer M.J. for misconduct during duty, while administrative investigations continue to clarify all circumstances of the incident.

Despite the measures taken, the employees involved have requested to return to work.
