The evening of September 7, 2025, will be magical for sky enthusiasts!
A rare astronomical phenomenon will occur: a total lunar eclipse coinciding with a supermoon, creating the spectacular sight known as the “Super Blood Moon.”
Here’s what makes this event so special:
A total lunar eclipse happens when the Earth positions itself between the Sun and the Moon, casting the Moon into its shadow.
The Moon takes on a reddish hue due to the refraction of sunlight through the Earth’s atmosphere.
Because the Moon will be closer to Earth than usual, it will appear larger and brighter – a true supermoon.
For photographers and sky lovers, this is a golden opportunity to capture breathtaking images.
In Albania, the Moon will rise at around 19:30, with the eclipse reaching its peak shortly after 20:10.
The spectacle will last about 5 and a half hours, with the most dramatic phase – totality – lasting approximately 1 hour and 22 minutes.
To enjoy it, choose a dark spot away from city lights and get ready for an unforgettable night.
If you don’t have a telescope, binoculars will do the job. And yes, a camera with a long lens will be your best friend that night.
