Tragedy on the Prrenjas–Librazhd road axis / Falling rocks claim the life of a 42-year-old man

A tragic accident occurred late on Friday night on the Prrenjas–Librazhd road axis, in the village of Hotolisht, Hotolisht Administrative Unit, in the municipality of Librazhd, where a 42-year-old man lost his life after the vehicle he was traveling in was struck by a rock that had detached from the hillside.

According to preliminary information, the incident happened around 10:30 p.m., and it is suspected that a large rock broke loose from the slope above the road and fell onto a “Mercedes Benz” vehicle driven by 42-year-old Arjan Hoxha, a resident of Gjergjan village in Elbasan.

As a result of the severe impact, the 42-year-old died at the scene.

Immediately after the incident, police services and the investigative team arrived at the location and are working to fully clarify the circumstances and document the case legally.

The exact causes of the rockfall remain under investigation, while authorities are expected to provide further details in the coming days.
