Tragic accident, the victims are a 52-year-old doctor and his daughter, a medical student

Anton and Bora Keçi, father and daughter, lost their lives in a tragic accident in Lezhë on Saturday evening.

In a condolence post shared by the General Directorate of Prisons, it is announced that the 52-year-old was the Head of Healthcare at Lezhë Prison, while his 20-year-old daughter was following in his footsteps in Medicine, as she was a second-year student at the Faculty of Medicine.

Anton Keçi had served for 6 years in the penitentiary system, the Directorate’s statement says.

“With deep sorrow, we announce that on 25.04.2026, in the evening hours, on the Lezhë–Gjadër road axis, at the place known as Gocaj, as a result of a tragic accident where the vehicle went off the road, Dr. Anton Keçi, 52 years old, Head of Healthcare at IEVP Lezhë, as well as his 20-year-old daughter, a second-year student at the Faculty of Medicine, lost their lives.

Dr. Keçi served with dedication for about 6 years in the penitentiary system, leaving behind professional and human appreciation among colleagues and all those who knew him.

In these difficult moments, we express our most sincere condolences to the family, colleagues, and relatives. We stand by his wife and son, sharing the great pain for this premature and irreplaceable loss,” the statement reads.

The victims also worked part-time at the refugee camp in Gjadër.
