Transporting weapons by vehicle with intent to sell, 48-year-old arrested

A 48-year-old man has been arrested in Tirana after being caught in the act of transporting weapons with the intent to sell them in the Tufina area.

During the arrest, police seized 2 pistols and 1 tactical combat weapon.

The operation codenamed “Barriera” has been finalized.

A case of attempted illegal firearms sale has been cracked down on. Three firearms (2 pistols and 1 tactical weapon) were seized.

The 48-year-old who possessed the weapons with intent to sell them was arrested in flagrante in Tufina while transporting them by car.

Based on information obtained regarding illegal possession of firearms for sale, services of Police Station No. 4 carried out the operation “Barriera”.

During the operation, citizen L. M., 48 years old, resident of Tirana, was arrested.

He was stopped by police on “Myslym Keta” street in Tufina while driving his vehicle.

During searches of the vehicle, 3 firearms (2 pistols and 1 tactical weapon) were found, which are suspected to have been intended for sale in the “Fresku” and “Tufina” areas.

The firearms were seized as material evidence, along with 3 magazines with ammunition, the vehicle, and his mobile phone.

Under the direction of the Prosecutor’s Office, investigations continue to identify other persons possibly involved in the case.

The procedural materials have been referred to the Tirana Prosecutor’s Office for further action.
