The Albanian Football Federation announced today that the start dates for the Superiore and First Division championships have been changed. Initially planned for August 23, the new decision sets the start date to August 19.

There is no official explanation yet for the reason behind this date change.

In the opening week, Elbasani will host Flamurtari, Bylis will face off against Tirana, Partizani will duel with Vora, Teuta will welcome Ilir Daja’s Dinamo, while Vllaznia and Egnatia will have the chance to repeat last season’s “final.”

“Albanian football is preparing to raise the curtain on the new season. The ‘Abissnet Superiore’ championship kicks off on August 19, while the new season of the ‘First Division’ begins on August 26. Preparations have started not only from the participating clubs but also from the referees who will ensure justice on the field,” reads the statement from the Albanian Football Federation (FSHF).
