Reimbursement for parents with children under 18 will take place in the period from January 22 to March 31. To benefit, parents must submit the DIVA declaration in the Tax Administration system.

From this year, the DIVA declaration is not a legal obligation, but an opportunity for reimbursement, especially for parents. Based on the 2023 law on income tax, families with children will benefit from a deduction from the taxable base.

In the tax system, every parent who has children under the age of 18 has the right to deduct 48,000 lekë per year for each child from their taxable base. This reimbursement applies to all salary levels through the DIVA declaration on the Tax Administration’s online platform.

There is also a second benefit, which allows the deduction of expenses for children’s education in private schools up to 100,000 lekë per year, provided that the gross annual salary does not exceed 100,000 lekë per month.

The Tax Administration clarifies that in a married couple, the deduction should be claimed by the parent with the higher income.

This maximizes the reimbursement amount. For education expenses, all tax invoices and payment receipts for the year 2025, as well as contracts with schools, must be kept. Meanwhile, the system for submitting the DIVA declaration will be activated from January 22 to March 31 of this year.
