The former head of the Bar Association in Korça, Arben Lena, has been arrested by the police on charges of bribery.
He was reported by a 70-year-old man serving his sentence in Shën Koll Prison, who claims Lena withdrew money from his bank account after being given a power of attorney for representation.
“Specialists of the Sector for the Investigation of Economic and Financial Crime referred the case to the Prosecutor's Office for citizen Arben Lena, 56 years old, a lawyer by profession, currently under the security measure ‘Arrest in prison,’ as he is suspected that during the period 2020-2022, he withdrew sums of money from the bank account of a 70-year-old man (currently in Shënkoll Penitentiary), using the power of attorney that he obtained by exploiting the man’s trust and health condition,” the police announcement states.
