Finance Minister Petrit Malaj has announced the completion of the first phase of on-site inspections, part of efforts to strengthen fiscal legality in the agricultural and livestock product sector. In a Facebook post, he stated that in the first 20 days, 283 businesses were inspected and 103 tons of goods were seized.
Malaj also revealed that the Tax Administration is now launching the second phase, which will focus on continuous monitoring to ensure all products are accompanied by tax invoices.
According to him, the goal of this initiative is to formalize the market, enhance food safety, and protect consumers.
“Zero tolerance for any entity that breaks the law and fails to comply with the rules on trading agricultural and livestock products,” Malaj declared.
