“Cases like those of Aurora, Giulia Cecchetti, and Zoe Trinchero show how a certain feminism normalizes violence: a feminism that has learned to use violence without giving it weight and is likely to continue doing so, just like my daughter’s killer, who now boasts in prison that he caused the youngest female victim in Europe, as if it were a record, demonstrating that he has understood nothing.”
After the death of the 17-year-old from Nizza Monferrato (Asti), Aurora Tila’s mother, whose 13-year-old Albanian daughter fell from the seventh floor of her building in Piacenza in 2024, is outraged.
According to the Juvenile Court, she was killed by a boy, then 15 years old, with whom she had a romantic relationship. He was later sentenced to 17 years, but has always maintained his innocence.
Since that tragic October 25, 2024, Morena Corbellini has fought to preserve her daughter’s memory and announced to *La Stampa* the creation of the association “La Luce di Aurora” with the aim of “spreading awareness, information, dialogue, and prevention.”
“We will go to schools, companies, anywhere, to meet children and parents,” she explains, according to Piranja News.
**The story of Aurora Tila**
A little more than a year has passed since the death of 13-year-old Albanian Aurora Tila, a student at Colombini High School in Piacenza, who fell from the balcony of the seventh floor after hanging from the railing for a few seconds. Her ex-boyfriend, then 15 years old, was sentenced to 17 years in prison for aggravated murder, stalking, the victim’s minority, and emotional connection, after a fast-tracked trial.
“Since the murders of girls like Aurora and Giulia Cecchetti,” says her mother Morena Corbellini, “a dark world has been revealed in which female murders are not only the prerogative of middle-aged men attached to an archaic way of thinking, but also of adolescents. And the horrific case of Zoe Trinchero’s murder highlights an aspect that must be considered. From what I read, she was not killed because Manna was obsessed with her, but rather he used her as revenge against his ex-girlfriend,” reports Piranja News.
“Italian laws are certainly lenient, especially for minors,” she concludes. “I believe this is partly why we have so many crimes against women, but I find it hard to understand how one can change the mentality of a femicide with such a short prison sentence.”
