Korça’s sports world is in mourning today following the passing of Llaqi Kostandini, the legendary former driver of Skënderbeu Club, at the age of 90. His legacy is etched in the hearts of generations who remember the little bus with the “Skënderbeu” sign traveling across Albania, faithfully and lovingly accompanying the city’s teams from football to handball.

Llaqi was much more than a driver. He was a friend, a confidant, and a quiet pillar of support for athletes. In an era of modest means and challenging road conditions, he often made multiple trips a day, ensuring no team was left behind. Always present, always smiling, always reliable.

His contribution to Korça’s sports history is immeasurable. Llaqi Kostandini will forever be remembered with respect and fondness.

Our deepest condolences to his family and to the entire sports community, which today lost a true friend.
