Heavy rainfall and runoff from the surrounding hills have caused the stream in the village of Gur i Kuq to overflow, due to the large amount of alluvium, a situation that has been ongoing for two days.

The overflow has also blocked the culvert on the Pogradec–Qafë Thanë national road.

For the past two days, efforts have continued to normalize the situation, while vehicle traffic on a 100-meter segment is currently limited to a single lane.

For three days, work has been underway to open an emergency lane toward the Dardhas administrative unit, as the road has collapsed and vehicle passage is impossible. The Kakaç–Grunjas and Kalivaç–Dunicë routes also remain blocked due to landslides.

As a result of these blockages, schools in the villages of Dunicë and Grunjas were closed today, as teachers could not reach the schools due to impassable roads, according to the Pogradec Education Office.

The situation remains problematic on the Pogradec Ring Road as well, where a 50-meter section of collapsed road continues to pose a risk for vehicles, with traffic limited to a single lane.
