Albania–Kosovo border: Easier movement for citizens of both countries

Border checks between Albania and Kosovo have been lifted again for vehicles with Albanian and Kosovar license plates. The decision, which took effect on November 1, will remain in force until the end of February next year.

During this period, checks will apply only to vehicles with foreign plates, but through an accelerated procedure to avoid long waits at border crossings, especially in Morinë and Vermicë.

This simplified border regime was reinstated after a one-month suspension in October, when authorities carried out registration and verification of vehicles and passengers. Even then, during weekends and public holidays, citizens of both countries were allowed to cross without checks.
