An algerian is arrested in "Lugina 3" for assisting illegal border crossing

Korça Police, in cooperation with the Crime Investigation Section of the Local Directorate for Border and Migration, the Kapshticë Border Police Station, and the Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction in Korça, successfully finalized the operation, resulting in the arrest of Algerian citizen A. B., 20 years old.

The young man was caught in the act during the night in the village of Kapshticë, accompanying another Algerian citizen with the intention of illegally crossing the border.

According to the ongoing investigation, it is suspected that this individual, in collaboration with others, was assisting migrants from third countries to illegally enter Albanian territory from Greece, with the final destination being European Union countries, through Montenegro.

Investigations continue to fully document this criminal activity and to identify and arrest other individuals involved.

The procedural materials have been referred to the Korça Prosecutor's Office for further action.
