SAOCP is expected to have a new leader by the end of this year, as the current chairman’s mandate concludes after three years, as prescribed by law. The selection process will take place at the High Prosecutorial Council, where candidates will present their platforms, followed by a vote to choose the new head of the institution.
During his three-year tenure at the helm of SAOCP, Altin Dumani has demonstrated that, with honesty and by upholding the law, the Special Prosecution can bring to justice even those once considered “untouchable.” His mandate oversaw some of the most high-profile cases of the past decade.
Unofficial sources indicate that four names are currently being discussed as candidates for SPAK’s leadership. The most frequently mentioned is Adnan Xholi, who has often been seen alongside Dumani in parliamentary commissions and public meetings.
Another candidate is prosecutor Vladimir Mara, known for his role in several of SPAK’s most important cases.
Klodian Braho is also in the running; he led the Elbasan incinerator case and the well-known “5D” case.
The fourth candidate is Anita Jella, a prosecutor recognized for her integrity. If elected, she would become the first woman to lead SPAK, marking a historic moment for the institution.
