Electricity bills will now have to include more detailed information related to the consumer’s category, the balance of self-produced energy, or cases where there is an installation for charging an electric vehicle.
In a recently approved instruction, the Energy Regulatory Entity (ERE) has emphasized that each bill must include the consumer’s identification.
Specifically, according to the legal framework, the categorization of consumers is: household, others connected at 0.4 supplied by the Universal Supplier, if it is a household with consumption below 700 kW, consumer of the Last Resort Supplier, religious institutions, bakeries/flour production (according to sub-categories), charging points/stations for electric vehicles (EV), or self-producers (with renewable energy sources), and finally water supply and sewerage systems connected at the voltage level 35 KV/20/10/6 KV.
According to the Entity, suppliers must update their electronic billing systems, while based on a Board decision from November 13, they must report every three months the list of consumer contracts that possess electric vehicle charging equipment and/or self-production capacities.
The instruction specifies in Article 7 that for existing consumers who have a charging point/station with installed power above 11 kW connected at the voltage level 0.4 kV, who have an approved connection point but do not have a supply contract, the Universal Service Supplier must generate a new supply contract. Existing consumers will not be charged additional costs for installing a metering system for these charging points/stations.
Likewise, all consumers applying for the first time for a charging point/station with installed power above 11 kW connected at the voltage level 0.4 kV must sign a new contract with the supplier that provides this service.
According to the ERE decision, the instruction will enter into force after its publication in the official gazette and will apply to bills issued from December 2025.
