A powerful explosion occurred on the morning of Friday, October 10, at a factory specialized in the production and storage of explosives. According to authorities, the incident has left 19 people missing and caused significant material damage.
Official sources report that the incident happened shortly before 08:00 local time. The blast was felt in several surrounding areas and was so strong that it was reported tens of kilometers away. Due to continuing smaller explosions after the initial detonation, emergency teams were unable to intervene immediately at the site.
The local sheriff, in an emotional statement to the media, confirmed that 19 people are missing and that so far there is no clear explanation for the cause of the explosion.
Aerial footage shows complete destruction of the industrial facility, burned debris, and vehicles engulfed in smoke. According to media reports, the facility is located in a large industrial area and has secured significant contracts for explosives production over the past two decades.
Experts in the field have explained that such accidents usually occur during the processing of raw materials, which in their unprocessed form are highly dangerous, unlike stabilized products such as TNT or nitrocellulose, which are safer to store.
Meanwhile, hospital sources confirm that several people have sought medical treatment. Some were lightly injured and released, while another remains under medical care. Other reports indicate additional patients being treated in hospitals in the surrounding area.
