Since the beginning of this month, our country has been experiencing continuous rainfall, and according to forecasts, unstable weather conditions are expected to continue in the coming weeks.

Speaking on the show “Sot Live në Shqipëri,” Anira Gjoni from the Institute of Geosciences reported that February is ending with temperatures above the long-term average, while rain will remain present almost throughout the week.

“Once again this year, February shows temperatures above the long-term average. Rainfall will continue during this week. For today and tomorrow, we will see moderate to heavy rain in the districts of Shkodër, Dibër, Lezhë, Durrës, Tirana, Vlorë, Gjirokastër, and Elbasan,” Gjoni said.

She added that Wednesday will bring a temporary break in the rain and a drop in temperatures, but the situation will change again later in the week.

“Wednesday will bring a pause in rainfall and lower temperatures. During these two days, at altitudes above 600 meters, we will have snowfall in the Alps and in eastern areas. On Thursday, rain returns to all districts. The last week of rain will end this way. March will finally bring the end of rainfall and which is considered good news the return of the sun,” Gjoni emphasized.

As for temperatures tomorrow, they are expected to be 9–10°C in coastal areas, 6–9°C in lowlands, and -1 to 4°C in mountainous regions.

Meanwhile, on Wednesday, minimum temperatures in mountainous areas are expected to drop to -5°C, which will likely cause icy conditions on roads. Drivers are therefore advised to exercise extra caution while traveling.
