This whole version is nothing but a continuation of a long-standing fabricated narrative, whose typical phenomenon is the story of the “Babale.”

Ilir Demaliaj was understandably stunned by the phantasmagoric tale aired on panels about Erion Veliaj ending a 30-kilogram demijohn of rakia in the Durrës prison cells. Another summer story that “suddenly” sprouted as a “deep analysis” of national political developments on the famous talk shows, which are now experiencing their last days before the holidays.

Although the story of the demijohn will dissipate, if it hasn’t already, other “babale” stories like this will not cease. Like the one that emerged today, conveyed by special prosecutor reporters, where the alcohol content was even higher than that of the comical demijohn.

According to these “news from sources,” Veliaj was found guilty of discussing his candidacy for parliament as a way to save himself from his judicial situation. A report completely without foundation, which clearly originates from the same place that, lacking evidence, creates fog to keep public opinion lingering as long as possible, to protect the original version.

This whole version is nothing but a continuation of a fabrication philosophy that has lasted for years, with the typical phenomenon being the story of the “Babale.” A fabricated story intended to support the goal of incriminating a high official, like the then Interior Minister.

A fake story to justify a political cause, when the most normal thing would be to deal with the real and problematic stories that Albania has in abundance.

The same as with Babale as a phenomenon is the “telenovela” of Yuri Kim, which ended today before the holidays by President Donald Trump.

The US President appointed Ambassador Yuri Kim as head of negotiations for Syria, confirming her in an important diplomatic position. What will all those who were upset that the former US ambassador to Tirana “had finished her job” do now? Their posts about her still live on social media, lighting up portals and fueling evening talk shows. They will continue to “feed on this babale” like they always have. Because “Babale” as a phenomenon is nothing else but a way to avoid the core argument.

As is happening with the Veliaj case, where the factual reality of the criminal file has never been discussed until now. Only fantasies of conversations in a van, or stories of demijohns of rakia that have evaporated due to “great stress.” A spontaneous question arises: we have a concrete case where a criminal file has gone to court and is not complete, but very voluminous. This is the Partizani file.

Has anyone seen this file discussed thoroughly on evening panels? Even though there is no need to talk with sources, since the material is written and even published online.
