Meanwhile, yesterday the Transparency Board set new fuel prices in Albania.
Asian stocks and oil prices rose this Friday ahead of highly anticipated talks between the US and Iran in Islamabad, which could determine whether the Strait of Hormuz reopens for much-needed crude shipments.
At the same time, there are significant differences in fuel prices across European Union countries, while in some cases oil prices have increased by up to 30 percent.
The price increase has been mainly driven by geopolitical developments, particularly tensions and conflicts in the Middle East, which have directly affected global oil markets.
As a result, fuel prices have risen significantly across Europe, Euronews reports.
However, the increase has not been the same in all countries. In some member states, prices have risen only slightly, while in others they have increased much more. This creates large differences between EU countries.

One of the main reasons for these differences is national fiscal policy. Taxes on fuel, including VAT and CO₂ emission taxes, vary from country to country and directly affect the final price paid by consumers.
In some countries, such as Germany or the Netherlands, prices are among the highest in Europe, partly due to higher taxes and stricter environmental policies. On the other hand, other countries have managed to keep prices lower thanks to lower taxes or government interventions to limit price increases.
Overall, the European fuel market is going through a period of instability, where global factors and national policies are creating large price differences from one country to another.
Meanwhile, yesterday the Transparency Board set new fuel prices in Albania.
According to the decision, diesel will be sold at up to 210 lek per liter at retail, a decrease of 10 lek compared to the previous day, and 198 lek per liter at wholesale, while gasoline will be up to 173 lek per liter at retail and 161 lek per liter at wholesale.
The new prices entered into force yesterday at 14:30 and will remain valid until a new decision is made. Authorities warn that any violations by operators will be penalized, including suspension of activity.
According to the announcement, current prices are below the limit set by the regulatory act, meaning that excise duty will be applied at the full level, 100%.
