The Prime Minister of Greece, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, announced an increase in the monthly minimum wage to 920 euros, up 40 euros from last year, which translates to an annual benefit of roughly half a monthly salary.
This marks the sixth consecutive increase since 2022, representing a cumulative rise of +41.5% since 2019. In addition to the minimum wage, the increase affects three-year schemes, public sector pay scales, and some additional benefits.
Mitsotakis emphasized that in this complex period, internal stability and unity are key to national strength and influence beyond borders.
“The ability to distinguish the important from the trivial in a changing world is what should guide our country,” said the Greek Prime Minister.
The increase will take effect on April 1, with the goal of reaching a minimum wage of 950 euros by 2027.
Authorities note that workers under 30 will benefit even more due to fiscal advantages and tax exemptions, while the increase in the minimum wage also affects other social benefits and pay levels in both the public and private sectors.
All Albanian immigrants living and working in Greece will also benefit from this increase.
