An easyJet pilot has been suspended pending an investigation by authorities following allegations that he was seen walking naked in a luxury African hotel.

According to *The Sun*, the pilot was spotted completely naked in the lobby area of a five-star hotel on the Atlantic island of Cape Verde in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

Witnesses told the media that the pilot had been drinking alcohol at the bar of the Meliá Dunas Beach Resort and Spa since the previous night, and at around 2:30 a.m., he removed all his clothes and entered the lobby area before heading to the gym and spa.

The man was scheduled to fly passengers from Cape Verde to Gatwick International Airport in Sussex last Wednesday.

Following the incident at the hotel, the airline suspended him and called in a replacement pilot.

An easyJet source told The Sun:

“Anyone who saw the pilot prancing around naked in the early hours before a flight would never even consider boarding a plane with him in control.”
