Major brawl at the high-security prison, Astmer Bilali and Mikel Thani end up in hospital

A violent conflict erupted last night at the Reç prison, in Malësia e Madhe, where two inmates clashed physically, resulting in serious injuries.

The individuals involved in the fight are Astmer Bilali and Mikel Thani, who were transported urgently to the Prison Hospital in Tirana for specialized medical treatment following the clash.

The incident occurred during lunchtime, when a debate broke out between them and quickly escalated into physical violence. According to sources, several other inmates joined Thani, further aggravating the situation.

Prison guards intervened to separate the parties, while both inmates sustained multiple injuries to their bodies.

Who are the individuals involved in the conflict?

Mikel Thani was arrested in 2015, suspected of injuring the parents of his former fiancée and a minor.

Astmer Bilali was arrested as part of the investigations into the large-scale case known as “Metamorfoza”.

This is not the first violent incident at Reç prison. A short time ago, another conflict between inmates Safet Bajri and Sokol Sanxhaktari resulted in injuries and the intervention of security forces.
